BTW. My favourite app for travelling is called culture trip. It has loads of stuff on it presented in easy chunks.
I agree that Cádiz is a more fun place to hang out but not sure about a family trip.

Jerez is boring, go straight to Cadiz.

Re: Seville
You can get a train to Jerez to visit a Bodega and taste Sherry. Cádiz is another half hour away and really worth visiting. It has a beach too. I loved Seville but got a little bit tired of it after theee days but can’t really work out why.
Food, wine, architecture and weather is excellent.

when we were in portugal, we took a daytrip by car to seville and like comma said, the archtecture is stunning.
a beautiful city indeed.
like me, you might not like bullfighting, but you should take a tour of the bullring in the city as it is stunning. beautiful architecture, even if the "sport" is barbaric, so go when it's empty in that case.
theres also good tapas places in the city and nice beaches not too far away as well.

Mid August!

Take factor 100 with you and pray to God they don't have a power cut thus cutting off aircon.

Lovely city but you'll fry. Temp regularly goes above 40c in August.

Some good jamon, tomato salad and a bit of good bread and youre more or less done as far as im concerned.

I like Andalucia far more than the rest of Spain.

Re: Seville
I went in March and it was about 25 degrees so in August if you try sun bathing you will feel like you are in an oven. Very cheap food and local wine there though. We had a rooftop pool too, quite easy to walk around there, you cant really go wrong in terms of food. Try some Iberico ham there as cheaper than over here.

Beautiful City, take your sun screen as silly hot this time of year!!

Just lovely to walk around the town taking it all in, with the Gothic Temple (cathedral) and also Alcázar Gardens plus other bits!

Plenty of wonderful tapas bars along with other restaurants.. .. the one i used to go in i can´t remember the name but had a load of stuffed bulls heads on the walls!..food was great!!

For the kids you can take to Isla Mágica theme park!

Also about 10 minutes out of the town there´s a great zoo called Mundo Park!!

You can cruise up the Guadalquivir River

Great City!!

We're in a hotel just back from the barossa beach around then. Went last year

Totally unspoilt - beautiful sunsets.

Cadiz 30 mins away from us. Can also recommend it for the day.
